Crises often lead to “a crisis of imagination,”
when in fact imagination is the most
precious asset in the face of adversity.
How do you nurture imagination?
Enhance your experience with music
THE STORYTELLER
Imagine a world that blurs the lines of the past and the future.
A universe where the philosophies of our past were the key to the future.
Where dreams and reality coexist.
What if such a world existed?
Let me take you to the world of Antariksh Sanchar, driven by sheer imagination and impossibilities.
Antariksh Sanchar
(The Space Odyssey)
was housed in a quaint town
of South India.
Surrounded by temples and traditions.
With its rich stories and quirks
THE
KINETIC
SHRINE
A Meenakshi Amman Shrine was envisioned with the discoveries of Haikal (Ernst Haeckel in our world)
Nature was the source of inspiration and also the object of devotion in the world of Antariksh.
The temples revered nature's role in our existence. The biophilia intertwined with the crafted physical structure.
WHERE CRAFT SHAPED THE WORLD
But the world of Antariksh was not one that was burdened with the necessities of the present.
The Gopurams (temple structures), the jewelry, and Kolams(traditional drawings on floors) - each cross-pollinated to form gorgeous creations and new aesthetics, not once limited by purpose or needs.
We're made to believe, in our world, that necessity demands inventions.
MUSIC
AND
MACHINES
The past, the present, and the future are distinct worlds in our universe and we are, often, told to live in the present.
However, the past, present, and future coexisted in Antariksh.
This coexistence helped create a musical automaton, a tune of its own, with Carnatic music as the starting point and automation as the tool.
Listen to the timeless blend of the cultural past with technology creating melodies unheard of.
TAKING FLIGHT
Out of these boundless dreams, explorations, and leaps of logic, a spaceship was created. One that is rooted in the most recognisable structures of South India (the Gopuram).
All the dreams, all the explorations had been leading up to this.
To explore beyond the physical
confines of planet Earth.
To Mars.
SAMAY
It's the year 2045. Samay lands on Mars.
Samay and ISRO rover discover Shani's peak, but they realize it's not a mountain but a strangely familiar-looking built structure.
A scouting expedition continues to look at the unusual rock formation on Mars as Samay investigates.
The Indian Mars Mission did, after, all land.
THE
SPARK
The Dream Machine:
A dream machine that connects external and internal universes.
Where dreams are experienced and analysed.
The telescope that Ramanujam creates to listen to the stars.
Ramanujam's study where he worked on the visions and dreams.
Our world knows of R as a famous mathematician, who found solutions to difficult problems in his dreams and visions shown by a goddess.
But Antariksh Sanchar was a world that happened because R chose to experience the world like a child.
In our world, we may believe that imagination is extremely wasteful; that imagination can be the most precious asset only in the face of adversity.
But crises can often lead to 'crisis of imagination'.
What if you were to allow yourself time for reflection, to play, practice artistic thinking, and experience the world like a child. And laugh if and whenever you can.
How would you nurture imagination?
